Well I completed week 5 of my goal, but I'm a little late with posting it. We completed the goal last Saturday, and now its almost time to do week 6! Ahh! hahahaha. Well I did homemade pizza for the week. We made the dough and everything from scratch. And then I added a little touch of my own and turned the dough into cheesy crust. I love it when there is cheese inside!!! It turned out absolutely delicious, and it only took about an hour to do all of it! Here are the pictures!!!! Have a great day!

Week 4
So for week 4 I made cinnamon rolls with a cream cheese icing. I made every piece of it from scratch! It was my first time making any type of bread from scratch, and I must say I think it turned out well! It was pretty tasty, but after all the time it took to make it (about 3 hours), I decided that its worth the 5 dollars at Walmart to do the Cinnabon ones that only take 20 min to make and are just as good. :) We actually were so excited to eat them I forgot to take pictures while I was cooking them. So I just have a picture of a few cinnamon rolls that we had set aside for our second helpings. I would post the recipe for you, but it was soooo long and complicated, that I will just tell you where I got it. It is from the better homes and gardens book. And for future reference, that's where I get most my recipes.
Also, if anyone has any foods they think I should try, let me know, and if you have a yummy recipe, share it with me!
Have a great day!

Week 3...FISH!
Hey Everybody!
My week 3 of cooking I decided to go with something completely different than I have ever done. FISH! So I did two days of it, the first day I did Salmon, and the second day I did Tilapia. Both turned out great, but I must say, I enjoyed the Tilapia a bit more.
For the Salmon what I did was bake it. I actually followed the directions my sister in law Sara gave me for it, because if anyone knows how to cook Salmon, its her. She lived in Alaska for a while with her husband and Micah actually spent a summer up there with them one year. So she taught me how to cook it the way Micah likes it. My only mistake I made, was that I cooked them skin side up, instead of skin side down like I was supposed to. So it didn't hold in all the moisture like it should have, but oh well. Anyway, so I made a little sauce to let the fish bake in out of lemon juice, brown sugar, and water. I mixed the three together and poured it over the salmon. Then I baked it at 350 for about 40 min and then broiled it for about 5-10 min. I made a side of rice and I took about a fourth a stick of butter, melted it, and then mixed it with soy sauce. Then we poured it on the rice and stirred it up. It was DELICIOUS!!!! I'm not crazy about soy sauce, but that was really good. Here are the pictures of the salmon.
Then for the Tilapia, what I did was fry it. I thawed it out and then fried it in butter, lemon juice, and a little minced garlic. Once it was all cooked, I sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top and broiled it for about 5 min. It was really tasty. A very easy fish to cook, and it was really good without being too 'fishy'. This recipe I highly recommend. Here are pics of how it turned out.
Thats all folks!!!!
Have a great day!

Crazy Day / Week 2
Hello everyone!
Well we had a very crazy day yesterday. Micah was called into our stake president's office in the morning and I was asked to come along. The stake president let us know that even though Micah had just been called into a different calling, they are changing it and extending a new calling to him as the 1st councilor in the branch presidency for the Spanish branch. And on top of that they wanted to announce it the same day, in 2 hours in the Spanish branch sacrament meeting. Well we both happily accepted and went on our way. Then the shock set in for me. Over the next 2 hours I had this huge feeling of being overwhelmed and scared and excited and wanting to cry (not being sure if it was crying out of fear or happiness) all at the same time. I was having a very hard time breathing and so I would constantly get up to get water or start pacing around our house. I have not felt that way in a long time, it was pretty crazy. I was sad because that means I'm being released from my calling, and I was worried because I had to call in to work saying I'd be late, and I wasn't sure how to explain why, and I was scared because I don't speak any Spanish and so now I'll have to learn it. All kinds of thoughts were speeding to and from my mind. But then Micah came over to me and told me that the Lord knows what he is doing, and if he wants Micah in this position, then he will make everything else work so that it can happen. And all we have to do is follow his plan. So Micah advised me to talk with the Lord and ask him for guidance. So I did. After that my mind seemed to clear up, and even though I was still terrified, I was able to feel the excitement and I was able to be the support for my husband. We tried to call as many family members as we could think of to let them know of what was going on, and thankfully Micah's parents and brother were all able to get there in time for the meeting. In the San Carlos Spanish Branch, there are about 80 people technically in the ward, and about 25-30 people actually come, so it is a very small small ward. About 75 percent of them understand some English, and about half of them speak English fluently, so it will be my responsibility to try and learn as much Spanish as possible. Our new presidency consists of the President, who only speaks English, and understands a little Spanish (very little), Micah, who speaks both, and the 2nd co. who speaks only Spanish. So Micah's main responsibility will be translating to his two companions. It is an interesting mix of men up there on the stand, but I think they will do an amazing job. I'm very excited for Micah and his new calling, and although I'm very sad to have to leave the University ward and all my young women, I'm excited for the future and I'm looking forward to the blessings this new calling will bring to our lives.
Week 2 of cooking goal:
I made a new meal this week again, and this time I made Lemon Oregano Chicken. I followed the directions, and the meal tasted good, but it seemed like it was missing something. Maybe a little more lemon juice, or even maybe some salt. Here is the recipe so if anyone wants to try it, go ahead and try putting your own touch on the recipe to see if it helps fix the problem. Then let me know what you find out!!!!
Oregano-Lemon Chicken
6 bone-in chicken thighs (3 pounds)
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1-Place the chicken in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Combine the lemon juice, honey, oil, garlic, and oregano; pour over chicken.
2-Back, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 45 min or until a meat thermometer reads 180 degrees and chicken juices run clear, basting occasionally with pan juices. Makes 6 servings.
Here of the pictures of how mine turned out!
Also, on my last post, I neglected to tell you what we got for Christmas from each other and our family. Micah got me a beautiful necklace and a matching ring both with dark blue sapphires, and he also got me the Katy Perry CD. I got Micah a back massager that he can use at home or in the car, a charging stand to hold his electronics, the Star Trek movie on blue ray, and a bunch of colorful socks to match his ties. My mom got us a ton of stuff!!!!!! Some of our favorite gifts are our tomtom gps system, a blue ray player, a snuggie (amazing!!!), cooking books, Wii games, and a bunch of other items like clothing, cooking supplies, decorations, and just a ton of awesome stuff. Micah's mom made us an afghan that is very nice, and my grandpa made both of us our own pens out of wood. They are beautiful!!!! Well now that I've given you a novel to read, I hope you have a great day, and I love you all!!!!!
Have a great day!

Christmas in UT
We had some fun in Utah for our trip with my family! We flew out the 26th and stayed until the 29th. My parents both picked us up from the airport, and then we spent our time at my mom's new house. It was interesting because her house is identical to our old house, so I already knew where everything was. Except she has an AMAZING home theater, its gorgeous! That was fun to make use of. I have a bunch of pictures for you from our trip. Here you go!
Have a great day!
