Week 1 & Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!
We had a great Christmas out here in Colorado this year. We kicked it off with a Christmas eve party at Micah's sister Sara's house. I think she invited the entire ward plus a few, but it's alright, it was still very fun. One thing I've learned about the Espinoza family is that they definitely live by the saying, 'the more the merrier'. Here are some Christmas photos!

Micah and I contributed our Chocolate Fountain to the party, which started out as a flop because the chocolate was too thick, but ended up great once we thinned it out. I made a brand new dessert as part of my Week 1 of my new goal. It was a Chocolate peppermint brownie dessert. It was delicious! And then the day before I made Micah a steak with a mushroom, onion, and red pepper sauce on top. They were both a hit! I kept getting compliments on the dessert, and then Micah told me the dinner I made up without a recipe was one of the best I've ever cooked. Turns out that the sauce I made is actually part of a traditional German meal. Funny huh!? Here are the pictures.

My Resolution

Hello Everyone,
I have just spent my Saturday night doing two things. Taking care of my sick husband and watching Julie & Julia. I have found that doing these two things really makes one feel very good about themselves and gives them a desire to accomplish something great. Not only because it is nice to be able to provide comfort to a sick spouse, but it is empowering to watch a movie like Julie & Julia, and to see how two ordinary women do very extraordinary things. You see both of them find something that they love to do and turn it into an amazing part of their life! For anyone who has not seen this movie, I highly recommend it. The movie itself isn't the fantastic part, its the stories behind it. And as a plus, the two leads really are fantastic. Meryl Streep is an all star, and Amy Adams is my all time favorite. I absolutely ADORE her!

After watching this movie I have this new desire to cook, cook, cook! I am going to do my own little project, but not even close to the same level that Julie Powell took it to. I am just going to challenge myself to actually cook something new, once a week! I will pick a random recipe out of the cookbook and then get myself the ingredients, and then learn a new meal! I keep telling myself (and Micah) that one day I will be a good cook like my grandma and will be able to cook these fabulous meals for my children when we have family dinner. But how am I going to ever learn to cook these things unless I actually get off my patootie and do it!? So this is my new resolution. I am going to learn to cook something new, and delicious, every week. Hopefully it will work out that I will be able to develop a bit of a skill at cooking and I will be able to take my resolution to new lengths. But baby steps! I will work my way up with it. Right now I just need to focus on finally using all those pots and pans I got as wedding gifts.

At the moment Micah is unaware of this break through I have had, due to him being drugged up on the NyQuil I brought home. But the moment we get up tomorrow I will tell him of this new goal and see how he takes it. If the movie had one good support for me, it would definitely be that men are always up for a yummy dinner. So I'm sure he will back me up 100%. As for tonight, I am going to let myself relax, dream of food, and figure out which recipe to try first.

(I went ahead and put in a couple pictures for you as visuals for my post :). )

Oh and p.s.:
Congrats to Alea, she is having a GIRL! And congrats to all my other special friends who are expecting as well!

Have a great day!

Up to No Good

Hello my friends! The past little while Micah and I have been up to no good! We've just been working our tails off and Micah has added schooling to his workload as well! Our puppy Birdie just loves to tear apart any chew toy we give her and it's actually pretty entertaining! We keep trying to test her skills at chewing by buying toys that seem un-tear-able. So far she has proved us wrong every single time! And now vacuuming my carpet has become a very common task in our home. We still love her tho! Hahaha!

Well Micah and I just celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on the 21st, CRAZY! It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but apparently I have no sense of time. I have had a blast so far being married to him, and I've got a feeling it's only going to get better from here. We have our own little happy family with our little dog, but maybe kids will come into play in the not so distant future! Haha! You never know!

Micah is still the Gospel Doctrine teacher, and he absolutely loves it. He is really getting his feet planted as to what his style of teaching is, and we even had a lady in the ward bare her testimony about how much she enjoyed his class on Sunday. I am excited with Young Womens, because I planned last week's activity, and apparently it went well because I had two non-member girls come ask if it would be ok if they started coming every week! I about cheered for joy! So they surprised me and showed up to church on Sunday, and then asked if I could start picking them up on Tuesdays. Thankfully they live only 3 min from my house, so it's a quick drive, but I would be willing to go them them even if they lived a half hour from me! They seem to be very interested in the church and they are willing to listen to anything I feel like telling them. I'm very excited if you couldn't tell. :)

I'm extremely happy to have the opportunities I have, and Micah and I are so blessed to be able to live the way we do. It's hectic, but it is always a happy one!

Have a great day!

Waayyy too long

Wow, it has been way too long!!!! The week after the 4th of July I lost the cord to be able to upload pictures to my computer. But I was finally able to borrow one so I can show you guys what we've been up to!!!

As for updates with me and Micah, we have both started very busy schedules. I am working 2 jobs, one at Doctor's Vision Works, and the other at State Farm. Micah is working at Kay Jewelers still, and going to school full time at PCC. Its been pretty crazy not getting to see each other very often, but thankfully we're pushing through it. It will just be nice when we are both graduated and can focus on having a family and working on careers.

I have finally decided what I am going to go to school for, Cosmetology! I always had an eye for Interior Design, but over the last little while I have noticed it doesn't interest me as much as it used to. So through talking with Chelsie, Micah, and my mom, I have decided on doing hair. I am so incredibly excited I can't stand it! I do have to wait to start school though, I'm on a waiting list that will have me start around April-ish. I will be doing the certificate program instead of the degree program, because the school councilor told me that since I already have a degree, I don't need to do the degree program again, and that is a total relief!

Well my little dog Birdie isn't so little anymore! When we first got her she was small enough to walk all the way under our coffee table, but now she is taller than the table. She still wants to be small though, because she likes to sleep under the table. Its pretty cute. A few weeks ago, I was headed to bed when I could hear Birdie smacking her mouth and she started frantically scratching at her own nose and jaw. I tried to figure out what was going on when I discovered she had gotten a hold of one of Micah's pens, and had one of the silver metal pieces jammed in her gums around her teeth. So I grabbed Micah and with his help in restraining her, we were finally able to pry out the metal from her teeth. Poor little thing!!! So I took pictures of it, and thought I would show you guys what my brave little puppy went through.

This Sunday Micah and I were up in Rye for dinner with his family, and we had a huge storm! But after, it had a gorgeous rainbow! And we could see the entire curve, so we took some pictures of it. Here you go!

Have a great day!

The 4th of July and more!!!

Hey guys!
So basically the last couple of days have been awesome! My family came out here to visit on Thursday, and left Sunday afternoon. While they were here, we went to visit Bishop's castle, we went to a fair, we went to the zoo, ate at Max's, and we spent a ton of time together!!! On the 4th, we started by going to a pancake breakfast in the morning, went to see Ice Age 3 the in the afternoon, and then went and had a water fight/BBQ at Micah's parents house after the movie! That evening we went and bought a bunch of fireworks, and celebrated by lighting fireworks in the street! It was amazing how everyone in my neighborhood is obsessed with fireworks, we had an amazing show! There were huge fireworks going off all around my house, it was awesome. It rained a bunch, but it was still a blast!!! I loved getting to see my niece and nephew, and I was so happy to get to see them!!! I will post tons of pictures for you!!! The first slide show is all of my family, and the second one is of Bishop's castle!!!

Have a great day!

Its been a while!

Hey everyone! It has definitely been a while since I last posted. But thanks to a good friend, I was convinced I need to post again! Micah and I don't have any major news to announce, but we can fill you in on whats going on in our lives! I am still working at Doctors VisionWorks selling glasses, and Micah is still working at Kay Jewelers. We have gotten into a workout routine lately, and its been really nice getting back into shape. I got feeling so lazy over the last little while that this has been a great improvement. The next step is to eat healthy too. haha!
Our puppy Birdie, I think I can safely say, is house trained! Woo Hoo! She hasn't had an accident in weeks, and has gotten into the habit of letting us sleep through the night, instead of having us let her out every couple hours. We still need to get her her third round of booster shots, and I'm hoping to get that done quickly. Micah has successfully taught her how to fetch, and I have gotten her into the habbit of sitting. She has a bit of trouble concentrating sometimes, but then again she is still a toddler in doggie years. I am now working on having her first sit, and then to have her stay as I walk farther and farther away. We are trying to use hand signals as we train her, so that one day when she goes deaf (Blue Heelers are known for that trait), we can still give her commands.
My family are all coming out for the 4th of July! Yay! My mom, brother, his wife, 2 kids, my sister, and my aunt are all carpooling out here the week of the 4th. I'm really excited to see them again! They invited my dad to join them, but he was unable to get time off from work. I'm planning on taking them around town to see fun sites while they are here. Some of the sites on my list are the Riverwalk, Bishop's Castle, and the lake. I think its going to turn out to be a really fun trip, and I cannot wait to snuggle my niece and nephew!
Other than that nothing else is really new, except we did get a new rug for the floor :). Birdie already had her first scolding from trying to tear it apart, but I was able to repair it so that you can't tell it was even torn. After that she hasn't even attempted to pull it apart again. hahaha.
I am still baby hungry, like always, haha, but we'll still wait until the time is right. Both of us have the mindset that if the Lord decides it is time for us to have a baby then we will be extremely happy and excited. Until then we will try and build our savings and work hard so we can prepare for that happy time.
The last thing we have going on is Youth Conference coming up on Thursday. We will be a Host Home for 4 young men in the stake and so I will be cooking them breakfast and dinner for a few days. I hope it turns out ok, and I am really excited to participate.

I hope you are all doing really well! Have happy lives and know I love you! xoxo!
Have a great day!

We Got A Dog!!!

Hello everyone!!! We got a puppy! Her name is Birdie, and we are so head over heels for her! She is a pure bred Blue Heeler, and she is about 3.5 months old. We are really enjoying her in our home, she really lights this home with her joy. Micah has taught her how to fetch, and she is now working on Sit and Come. We are also in the potty training process, but she basically has it down. The only thing left is to train her to wait a bit longer and hold it. Haha! But that will be something that will get better with age. Other than that we are just teaching her basic things like not to chew and that kind of stuff. She is a really smart dog, and we usually just have to only tell her once before she stops. I am going to post a slide show of her so you can see our beautiful doggie! She has a lazy ear that flops down a little bit, and is so precious.

I am also posting a pic of my outside of my house because of a few requests. So here you go!!!Have a great day!

River Walk

A few weeks ago Micah and I both had a day off and so we decided to go down the the River Walk here in Pueblo. It was so fun to just walk around and take in the scenery. We enjoyed spending some time with just each other and loved the relaxing atmosphere. I posted some pictures for you guys, so hopefully you will see just how pretty it was! :)

A Great Day

Hello my friends!!! Today has been a great day. I started off with a training meeting for both Relief Society and Young Womens presidencies, taught by the General Relief Society President, Sister Julie Beck. It was an absolutely AMAZING talk, she is so inspirational. Then after that myself, my secretary, and the Relief Society presidency from my ward all went up to Denver to do a session together in the temple.
Afterwords, we went back down to a fireside, also taught by Sister Beck, and got to listen to her again. It was an absolutely amazing day getting to focus only on the Lord. I really enjoyed getting to know new people and getting the chance to just be in the presence of the Lord and feel his spirit all around me.

This church is truly the church of God, and I know it with all my heart. I am so grateful for all of you in our lives, and how strong and inspirational you are for us. I love you all so very much!

Other than my day today, I do have more good news, Micah finally got a job! He is working for Kay Jewelers out here as a sales associate. He is very excited to finally not be a manager. hahaha! So far he is doing wonderfully with the new job, and we have been very impressed with his boss. I am very excited for this opportunity for him, and I know the Lord will lead us in the direction he thinks is best. Thats all for news! See ya!
Have a great day!

Having Loads Of Fun In Colorado!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been out having fun instead! haha! Some updates we have are, Congrats to Aaron and Kristel for getting married! They got married in the Denver temple on Valentines day. They looked so happy! I will include a picture for you. And then Happy Birthday to my mammalu! She had a very happy birthday, and I sent her a singing card singing the song, Super Freak! lol!
I have my own update, I have been called to the Young Womens presidency as the 1st councilor. Its kinda weird being so young and teaching these girls already, but I think that the lord put me here for a reason, and I think that it will do good in my life.
We have been having a ton of fun with family and friends, and I will post some pictures from when we all made enchiladas up at Micah's parents house. I have a picture of the three friends, Micah, Bear, and Andy all wearing their aprons for the food. Those boys are like my sons, except Micah of course ;). They come over almost every day and I love cooking for them. Right now I think the favorite meal is one that my mom taught me, Cream Cheese Chicken. It is amazing! One of my favorites as well.
Overall we're having a good time, but we are still looking for jobs. We just cant seem to get them! Not for lack of trying! To be honest the job I have been hoping for seems to have been just stringing me along with no intent to actually hire me any time soon. I dont know if thats really the case, but it sure feels that way! I have found out about another company that has great benefits here in town that I am going to go check out tomorrow and apply down there. Micah is having a hard time as well, but hopefully something will come through soon.
Even though no jobs is very stressful, and now we have to be EXTRA careful with our money, we are still grateful for the time we have together. We have had a great time spending time with family and we are really enjoying having time for ourselves. I think with our schedules in Utah we got pretty burnt out, but we have been able to recover and are now ready to get back to work.
We love all of you guys, and it would be great if you would keep us in your prayers to help us find jobs! Thanks for everything!

Have a great day!

New News

I would take pictures of the house for you guys and post it right this second, but we just bought a washer and dryer, so we have everything that was stored in the laundry room all over the house. But even without the pictures, its still fun to announce that we bought a washer and dryer!!! We only had to pay 100 dollars! We got really lucky, a friend of ours bought themselves a new set and so they just wanted to get rid of the old set even for so cheap. They are a little older, but still in great shape, so we're really excited.

Also, I applied for a job today working at the Texas Roadhouse with my brother in law. It looks like it would be a really fun job and so I hope it works out! If not, it isn't a huge deal either, we have time to find other jobs too.

Other than those news, Micah and I are overall just enjoying spending time together and with family. His brother has come over every day so far to help out with stuff and to just hang out and play Rock Band. haha. Back in Utah, Micah worked late just about every night, and I worked during the day and early evenings, so we didn't see each other very much until late at night when we both got home. And by that time we are both so exhausted we would end up just going to bed, so its really nice to get to spend time together during the day and do simple things like getting groceries together. Experiences like this really help with teaching you what is most important in life. Like spending quality time, and giving up your time to your family. We are loving this time, and we're grateful for this time we've been given. Love you all!!!!

Have a great day!

All Moved!

Why hello everyone. Micah and I are all moved and ready to go! We are almost done unpacking and organizing. Hopefully I will finish tonight or tomorrow. Everything went smoothly for us and we're really excited for our future. The house turned out to be amazing. I will take pictures for you once it looks a little more presentable. There are only a few fix it things that we are having the owner take care of. Otherwise its just about perfect for us. We have tons of storage space, and a huge yard! It has a massive patio, which will be perfect for the superbowl coming up. Once weather starts warming up, we are going to start going to garage sales and look at getting patio furniture. We bought a 42 inch flat screen tv!!!! Its amazing, and we got an amazing deal on it too. We're pretty excited. :) Love you all! Let us know how you guys are doing!
Have a great day!

The Plan!

Hey everyone. We are really down to the wire on time. We've just about finished packing everything up, and we've packed ourselves clothing to wear over the next couple of days. Our plan is to get done with packing tonight, and then tomorrow (Micah's birthday) we'll start cleaning. Thursday we will try not to focus too much on getting things done so that we can focus more on Micah's birthday. And then Friday will be our big day of work. I will go to work in the morning, and I'm only working a half day. While I am gone, Micah and whoever comes to help, will get the moving van, and load everything up. Once I get home I will finish cleaning up the apartment for checkout and then we'll go pick up our brother-in-law, TJ, from the airport. That night we might go to dinner with my family one last time, and then Saturday morning we will just get in the cars and drive to COLORADO!!!! So thats the plan for the next couple of days! Everyone is welcome to come help on Friday afternoon. We don't have a whole lot of stuff yet, so we don't need a ton of hands, but every little bit helps!

Just want to let everyone here in Utah know, we love you all and we will miss you to death! Let us know if there are any events coming up that we can put on our calendar to come back for! You're all such great examples for us and we're greatful for all you do!
Have a great day!

Almost Time!

Hey everyone! We are getting down to the wire in our move. We have finished a surprisingly large amount of packing already, all we have left is the kitchen and some other random books and games around the apartment. But that shouldn't take too long to do! We are both getting extremely anxious to have this move completed and get going on our future. We have some fun plans for when we get out there already, like getting a new TV!! YA HOO! haha! We're going to use that new TV for a Superbowl party. To be honest I personally am not the biggest football fan, but with certain teams or games I can get pretty into it. So we're excited for it. If anyone has any fun tips on food to serve let me know! I think it will be nice to be so close to Micah's family and friends. Yes, MY sweet family and friends, I will miss you dearly, but I think that this move will really good for Micah and I. And thankfully we will be close enough that if there are any major events we could most likely come back for them. So let us know about anything coming up in your life so we can put it on our schedules! Anyway, I am off to go finish watching The Holiday...best movie EVER. haha. Love you all!
Have a great day!
